Summary: The week leading up to my trip to Haiti, had me so stressed. Why? Because I did not even have plans; but I knew for sure that I was not going to allow my mother to lift a finger during her birthday. The week before my flight, I was scouring Google for things to do and came across two different tour guides for Haiti. I reached out to both and only Augusnel responded back promptly. Thank goodness. I was so grateful! While conversing with him back & forth, trying to iron-out all the details… I realized that his customer-service skills were already above & beyond my expectations which confirmed me booking with him and his company. I informed him that this was a surprise birthday for my mother and he understood the assignment thoroughly. From September 13th to 21st, I embarked on a surprise birthday trip to Haiti to be with my mother, and l’ll honestly say that had the best time of my life (and I went to Japan 🇯🇵 earlier this year...) Augusnel made every moment unforgettable with his warm hospitality, local knowledge, and genuine care. He even picked my mother up from her place of residence and then picked me up at the airport upon arrival. My hotel reservation with Satama was cancelled and he immediately took me to the others on the boulevard, where I was able to snag a room at the *Comfort Plus Hotel. Great staff there as well. We explored three breathtaking beaches; Amiga Island, Cadras & Belly Beach in Cap Haitien, each with crystal-clear turquoise waters, powdery white sands, and a tranquil atmosphere that felt like a slice of paradise. The seafood lunches that he provided were absolutely divine - fresh, flavorful and perfectly prepared. Showcasing the rich bounty of the Haitian coast. Our culinary adventure continued with visits to three charming restaurants along the Boulevard (Lakay, Cap Deli & Boukanye) where every dish was a delightful explosion of authentic flavors. From succulent grilled fish to vibrant local specialties, the food was not only delicious but also served in inviting, picturesque settings Highlights of the tour included visits to the historic Sans Souci Palace and Fort Liberté, where the tour guide's passionate storytelling and expert translations brought Haiti’s fascinating history to life. He also ensured we navigated currency-exchanges confidently, protecting us from any confusion or overcharging when converting American dollars to Haitian gourdes. This experience was truly a 10/10 - seamless, enriching, and packed with unforgettable moments. l highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an authentic, enriching, and absolutely delightful Haitian adventure.
