Book Your Bob Marley Museum Entry Ticket from Eastwood Park, Kingston

Summary: Interesting and worthwhile experience visiting the Bob Marley Museum. It is located in the 19th century house where Marley lived with his family after attaining success. Tours are guided and provide a thorough and fascinating story of the life and achievements of this musical great. You will see all the rooms of the house including his bedroom and personal recording studio and can even see the bullet holes in the wall from the night that he was nearly murdered. However, no photography is allowed within the home during the tour, which was disappointing, but I guess understandable. Tours last 75 minutes and cost $25 for adults. I booked in advance, but I could have just showed up that morning and got on the next available tour. I actually booked the Combo "One Love" Tour for $40 which included a visit to the Tuff Gong Studio which is one of the most famous recording studios in the Caribbean and was founded by Bob Marley. We had to make our own way across town via Uber to get to the studios, but it was well worth it as the 60-minute tour was very interesting and I will review separately.

Summary: Tremendous experience. The guide narrates from his birth to his death. You get to see the house where Bob Marley lived, the recording studio and even the bullets holes from where they try to kill him. Truly impressive!!!

Summary: Amanda the tour guide had an excellent knowledge of Bob Marley and a very nice voice, she sang for us as we asked about any song. Gave me the chills to be so close to the original mixer. There is history and I did enjoy it and got to know more of Jamaican history.

Summary: We visited the Marley Museum on Wednesday, July 16. Our tour guide was Irie Sue, and she definitely made the whole experience waaaay IRIE! Her energy was off the charts, and I loved how she made us feel more like participants than just listeners, prompting us to give feedback during the experience (“Can I get a WOW! Can I get a Yes, Rasta!”). Irie Sue offered up tons of information all throughout the house, including many stories I had never heard, like the Wailers and Commodores at Madison Square Garden story (you’ve got to go hear her tell it!). She stayed upbeat, even while explaining some of the tougher history, and even while gently (but firmly) enforcing the “no photos inside the museum” policy on a gentleman in our group! [You can take photos outside on the grounds] My only disappointment was that there were so many tour groups going at once, we actually missed a couple of rooms. The most powerful feeling was when we stood at the foot of Bob’s bed (which was shielded by plexiglass), looking at the meditation mat on which he started every day; it gave me chills to be in his intimate space, even more so than the studio and the other rooms. An added, very special treat was meeting the curator of the gardens at the museum while we were waiting for our tour to start. When I asked the Brother his name, he said, “Them call me Humble…” (silent H, of course). He broke off sprigs of some plants to let us smell the fresh lemongrass, mint, plus other herbs and medicinal plants. When my wife said she was itching from a little bit of sunburn, Humble says, “Aloe Vera!” Then he walks over to the Aloe plant and breaks off a stalk, and tears it open, so my wife could rub the gel on her leg. Instant relief! We hated to leave the place; this trip was unforgettable!

Summary: An incredible experience, highly recommend! Our tour guide, Ricky, was knowledgeable and entertaining. He made it an interactive experience. He brought the culture, experience and historical impact of Bob Marley to life for his audience. It was an immersive experience that elevated our knowledge and understanding of Rastafarian culture and the musical influence of the one and only, The Great Bob Marley.
