Summary: Walter was our tour guide, and he was great! He was very knowledgeable, and was eager to share all he knew about the area. We appreciated his pace, allowing us to stop and take pictures everywhere. I do wish that the cost of the tour included the visit to the waterfalls, as we weren't expecting to have to pay out of pocket for that. The cost of that ticket also included entry into the Schwarzwaldmuseum, but because the tour ended away from there, we felt it was silly to backtrack and pay for parking again once we finished at the house of 1000 cuckoo clocks.

Summary: So celebrating Kari’s birthday with the whales, has become a fun tradition, and today we did it with the whole family. We have been on so many fun and exciting tours and seen these animals do so many incredible things, we are a little spoiled. It is easy to have a perfect day on the water and come away feeling just mmmm satisfied, because we didn’t see anything amazing or special. Today was great, we saw more whales, I think, than any tour before. (I think this is about our fifteenth with Ocean Friendly Tours) but it wasn’t until the last fifteen minutes that this happened. (One of our top ten moments for sure) This is a humpback whale playing with dolphins. The dolphins will often play with the boats, ride in front of them and scoot under and around them, just to play. They do the same thing with whales. In this case, the whale, a somewhat younger male, is chasing the dolphins and rolling over, swimming on his back and waving at us with his flippers. Never really seen this so close before. It just fills your heart with joy!
