If you are looking for a tour of Etna by a local long term resident who is completely passionate and extremely familiar with all aspects of Etna and the surrounding ecological environment, this is your tour guide. It includes a journey into one man’s very passsionate love for everything Etna. This is not your regular touristy guided tour but rather an experience into Etna’s history, its surrounding ecosystem and history of Etna with a highly personal experience. Grazie Don Mariano. Summary: I was staying in Linguaglossa for a few days and I wanted to experience a tour. I really struggled to find a tour operator that would take a solo traveler. Luckily I found Don Mariano who messaged me all the details on WhatsApp. The next day I walked down to his house and off we went in his vintage Fiat Catenrita which was quite a nostalgic experience. Don Mariano had prepared a packed lunch for us and we were able to take a break looking over Castiglione. The views were magnificent and Mario has a great knowledge of the area having lived here all his life.we visited many places Alacantra, francavilla, Fondaco motta, San cataldo, Mitogio, calatabiano, peidimonte etc. great tour with a fantastic host
