Summary: I made a specific trip to visit Alabama to see various civil rights sites, including a visit to Selma to see the Edmund Pettus Bridge. I quite enjoyed the F D Reese Historical tour of Selma. My tour was done by Alan Reese, who is F D Reese's grandson. The tour started at F D Reese’s house and then Alan took me to various important sites within Selma prior to going to the area by the Edmund Pettus Bridge. We walked across the bridge together and back (on a 92 degree day too). All throughout Allen provided me with a lot of historical context and a lot of information that I just did not know before. Of course the bridge is a public structure that you can walk across on your own, but I advise booking this tour in order to be able to experience Selma with knowledge of a descendant of a historical figure. I recommend the F D Reese Historical Tour.

Summary: This was a great experience! To be 50 years old and never hearing in depth information concerning Frederick D Reese and the WHY Martin Luther King Jr and others went to Selma plus Dr. Reese facilitating the entire movement was mind boggling. Dr. Reece was a very humble man who should have been acknowledged more in HIStory. Very thankful to have obtained the knowledge, visit the home the Dr. Reese lived in, and relive the crucial points of our HIStory with his grandson. Well done!

Summary: On a family road trip with a stop in Selma and I noticed this tour on Trip Advisor. It was a winter beak trip so there was not a tour available on the site to book, but I sent a message in Facebook and got a response back quickly. Alan was going to be in the area the one day that we could do the tour for a surprise birthday party for his mom. He was kind enough to complete a tour for us in the early afternoon before the party. We got a unique history lesson that we would not have known about if we had not found this tour. It is good to look at options beyond what is just the top of the search results as that doesn't always find you the best experience.
