Summary: Today we joined Cepas Turismo for a fantastic day trip to Alta Montaña, Puente del Inca, and Aconcagua. Our guide Federico and driver Esteban made the experience unforgettable – very well organized, informative, and full of energy. The day started early (6:00 AM) for a 12-hour journey through three stunning mountain ranges. Along the way, the landscape kept changing – from green hills with trees to rugged mountains with colorful rocks: yellow from sulphur, blue from copper, red from iron, and white from calcite. We stopped several times to take photos and visit historical sites. Federico shared fascinating stories about Argentina’s history, especially about General José de San Martín, who crossed the Andes with his troops to Chile and later to Peru to fight for South American independence. The highlight of the day was definitely the view of the Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America (almost 6,900 meters). Even though it was still quite far away, its sheer size and the snow-capped peaks against the dark rock were breathtaking. In short: an unforgettable excursion filled with nature, history, and incredible views. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mendoza!
