Summary:
If the idea of skimming across a shallow riverbed at a speed that stretches your smile from ear to ear excites you, then the Sigatoka River jet boat ride has your name written all over it.
The journey’s final destination is a traditional Fijian village tucked deep within the jungle clad mountains. The welcome is warm, the ceremonies authentic, and the locally prepared food is unforgettable. But make no mistake, it’s the jet boat ride itself that truly elevates this experience.
We’ve been on jet boat rides before, you know, the kind where the driver speeds along only to spin the boat so fast you might need to retrieve your stomach from behind you. This one shares the same adrenaline, but it is different. More raw, more intimate with the river itself.
The Sigatoka River is fed by tropical rains and can swell wide and wild. But on this particular day, it was narrow, shallow, almost playful. The boat was roughly three metres wide, offering comfortable seating yet the river was sometimes only four metres across, and in places no deeper than your knee.
So what do you get when you combine powerful engines, tight river channels, shallow water, high speed, and a few hair raising turns?
One seriously thrilling ride.
Speed, excitement, breathtaking scenery, and genuine Fijian hospitality all come together to create an adventure that’s as memorable as it is exhilarating.

A wonderful and immersive Fijian cultural experience, captain hot laps gave us a fun ride on the jet boat as well as an insight in to village life. Really enjoyed meeting the locals and taking part in their customs. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone travelling to fiji

Would highly recommend.
It was an incredible day. A great mix of education, authentic experience and fun. Made easy by staff from start to finish. ‘Captain Laps’ was knowledgeable on history and tradition, and a was also a great captain who was good for a laugh and did some incredible 360s in the boat. The villagers were welcoming and the local kids seemed to love the visit. Bring gifts for them if you can.
