Vancouver Dark Table: Unique Blind Dining Experience

Summary: It was an interesting experience to be able to experience a bit of the world of the blind. We really enjoyed trying to pick out what we were eating based on taste and smell alone.

Summary: I loved it, it was so fun. My Mum and I were led into the restaurant by our waiter. We were given a menu at the front and ordered there. We were led to the bathroom to wash our hands and then were taken into the totally dark restaurant. My Mum ordered the surprise and I ordered the chicken. I paid for the 3 course online and it was so good. Some foodies are saying that the food was meh, but I didn't think so. I pretty much felt for my food on my plate and forked it after. It was really good. The cheesecake that I received was really yummy. We could hear a couple of tables being led into the space. We had to call out to our waiter whenever we finished the courses. We were taken to the bar area when we were finished our supper and where we paid for the extras. I would definitely do Dark Table again.

Summary: This was so much fun! The it works is this: You order your entree and drink before you enter the restaurant. The appetizer and dessert are a surprise. The entree options are steak, chicken, fish, mushroom parmesan risotto, or a surpise dinner. I chose the risotto, I figured that would be the easiest to eat in the dark. The table next to me chose the steak. It was cut up for them. They have three different appetilzers and desserts which are rotated so there won't be spoilers from the neighboring tables. The servers are visually disabled and they will take you to your table and make sure you are as comfortable as you can be in pitch black. The table is quite large. It was the length of my arms, shoulder to finger tips. I wanted to make sure I didn't shove my drink off the table while still keeping it out of the way of my plate. I would 100% do this again. The only issue is that the reservation with Viator or Trip Advisor doesn't notify them that there is a reservation. They were still able to take me in though. You are buying a voucher only and you are still responsible for the remainder of the bill. If that was mentioned in the details of the, I missed it. So my recommendation that you call the resaurant and let them know you made a reservation. Or just reserve a table on their website. You'll be paying the same amount no matter what. This is a restaurant like any other as far as business practices go. The experience just bumps it up a notch. I do recommend that you try this out. I loved it. So interesting and my server made sure I was comfortable and checked on me often.
