Summary: I am so thankful that we chose this tour company. There were many choices and honestly it was a bit overwhelming keeping track of all the sites to see. We chose two full day private tours and one morning sunrise. We had Yenni as our guide and she was beyond amazing. She grew up on the island but also lived in the US for years and has several college degrees including Anthropology so she has expert knowledge to share. She also takes great photo's for you and pretty much knows everyone on the island so she helped us plan our trip even when we weren't touring with her. She constantly made sure our needs were met and allowed us to set the tour pace that worked best for us. We stayed at Nayara Resort which lists itself as the only 5 star hotel and includes an all inclusive option for touring the island. With that said, I am so happy that I made the decision to hire my own private guide and skip the hotel group tours. I had to rely on our private guide Yenni for most of our dining and island information as the hotel staff just lacked the necessary information. When you are paying top dollar to travel remote you need to make the most of your time on the island. Don't have regrets, make sure you book the best tour company so you know that you truly had the best experience and saw everything noteworthy on the island. If you speak English Yenni is your guide and I hope you love her as much as we did.

Summary: This private tour was absolutely everything we hoped it would be and MORE!!! Of course the island is beautiful and amazing in many ways but our guide, Yeni, definitely made the island and all of it's rich history come to life. Growing up in Rapa Nui she had first hand knowledge of history, culture, and so many stories. She was constantly asking about our interests in what to prioritize in seeing at the island and gave us an experience that will be a top memory for a lifetime. The vehicle was top notch, clean and comfortable, and all the little details thought of as well. This is the top guided adventure that our family has ever experienced. Summary: While expensive, this tour was well worth the price. Our guide, Yani, was phenomenal. If the other guides are like her, you will be in great hands. She was knowledgeable, kind, and knows everyone on the island, so interactions with park rangers were like meeting old friends or family members. She helped us out in getting to the airport after lunch to retrieve our son’s late luggage, recommended an amazing local empenada place (get the octopus) and was great when our son wasn’t feeling well. We hit all the major sites, got great information, and really enjoyed our two days. We highly recommend this tour.

Summary: AMAZING! 100% would recommend doing this with Yeni and ChiChi. They were PHENONOMAL! The knowledge, the history, their flexibility. Truly fantastic experience!

Summary: We had a wonderful 2 days with Eric. I can’t believe how much we saw in 2 days but also never felt rushed. Learned so much, so many beautiful places and now photos for us to bring back to remember. What made this trip extra special was Eric being Rapanui and all the stories of him growing up and his grandparents, great-grandparents’ stories etc. I am so grateful we were able to discover Rapa Nui with someone truly connected to the land.

Summary: When planning our first visit to Easter Island, I found it difficult to determine which tour guide company to choose. I spent hours just trying to figure out what sites we should focus on, etc. However, I am so glad that I relied on the stellar reviews from Tripadvisor because this tour made our entire trip! My husband and I traveled in mid-December with our two children, ages 7 and 9. I emailed Easter Island Travel and got prompt responses from Alberto. I booked a 2-day private tour to get all of the highlights of the island (tours A and B on their website). The cost was quite reasonable given that it was a private tour for just our family which I much prefer with our children in case they need a break, want snacks, etc. Alberto picked us up in a huge van with cold water bottles each day. The van was clean and comfortable, and had great A/C. My husband and I speak a fair amount of Spanish. Alberto speaks fluent and perfect English. I don't say this to be elitist. However, it was important to me that my children (who speak no Spanish) understood and were engaged during the tour. Moreover, it became apparent during the tour that some of the explanations about colonization, engineering, and historical events would have been much harder to explain for someone who is not fluent in English. Alberto is patient, easy going, and a pleasure to spend time with. He was wonderful with my children and made the information digestible for them. When we came home from our trip, our kids went into incredible detail about what they learned during our tour, all thanks to Alberto. On our second day, one of our kids wasn't feeling well and he changed the order of the tour just to make sure we got to the highlights in case we needed to end the day early. While on our tours, we saw many other people with guides that did not seem enthusiastic and that were struggling with English explanations. Please believe me when I say that your guide will really make or break your experience of this magical place. Make the choice to go with Alberto, you won't be sorry! We are so grateful to have a much better appreciation of the island and its culture due to Alberto's fantastic tour. Summary: We did Tour A: Journey of Legends and Tour B Megaliths and it covered so much! We got a wonderful guide- Wai, she was excelently aknlowledged about the local culture. We felt we learned a lot about the history of Rapa Nui and the Moai! I would higly recommend Easter Island Travel as they are a local agency, well organized and well informed!

He showed us his farm and shared a lot about daily life on the island. His knowledge of archeological and oral history of the Rapa Nui people was incredible, and being a private tour, we got to hear a lot more of it. To top it off, his father is the archaeologist who was a driving force behind restoring the 15 Moai, and his personal view of it really brought Rapa Nui's past and current culture to life!
