Authentic South Tour

Summary: We had a car trip with private driver - Authentic south. Perfect very helpful guide/driver, very committed. All the questions were answered, all our requests were met. Organisation of the trip went very smoothly, communication by email went very fast.

Summary: My husband and I went on the Authentic South tour with Sailen on Saturday 29th June. Everything was arranged via Carine on email, after a colleague Ibrahim had picked us up from the airport the previous Saturday and given us a leaflet about the company. Both Ibrahim and Sailen, as well as Sailen's brother who happened to take us back to the airport the following day, were all wonderful - they all spoke great English (Sailen's brother the best of all), were very considerate and brilliant tour guides. Sailen picked us up from the Ravenala Attitude hotel, where he actually sustained an injury as he tripped over something whilst cleaning his car, but he bravely soldiered on with us the whole day - and later told us he needed four stitches!!! We were with him from 9-4pm and it was absolutely worth the money. I'll probably forget some places, but we went to the Pride of the Island souvenir shop, which was great because otherwise we just had the hotel shop; we saw the Trou aux Cerfs crater, the Sacred Lake (Ganga Talao) and the new giant statues of Shiva and Durga Mata. We also did the Black River Gorge and then Chamarel Ecopark to see the waterfall and the Seven Coloured Earth. But, in addition to that, Sailen told us so much about the culture of the island, he stopped the car to let us taste Mauritian fruits and he explained about different trees and flowers He stopped at view points for photos and was always willing to take photos of us. He even arranged a place for us to eat our picnics provided by the hotel, as you're not allowed in the Chamarel Ecopark. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone!
