Buffalo Highlight Tour

Celebrate the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Erie Canal aboard an authentic British double decker bus. Our 90 minute tour is all new for this year and allows guests to step back in history and experience how the Erie Canal transformed Buffalo, New York State and the entire country. We begin by viewing the terminus of the Erie Canal with a brief walking tour. Guests will come to understand the plight of the immigrants who traveled thousands of miles to start a new life in America. Once aboard the bus we'll view and visit the beautiful waterfront of Buffalo including Lake Erie and the vistas of the Canadian shoreline. As we travel we'll learn about the rough 'Canal District' that featured over 120 saloons and other 'amusements'. A major highlight is the interior exploration of a massive 26 silo grain elevator along Buffalo's Waterfront. If you enjoy awesome storytelling and local charm, this tour is for you!

Summary: Being from out of town, it was very interesting to see a little bit of the history of Buffalo. I loved looking at all of the different architecture around the city. We are from the Milwaukee area and it was interesting to see how similar that Buffalo is to Milwaukee. I liked learning about the docks, the shipping, the history of the port & the Erie Canal. Our tour guide O'Conner was fantastic...he wore an old Irish constable uniform. He was eager to offer information & very willing to answer all the questions. If you have the time, I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. It is totally worth it : )

Summary: Connor is very relaxed, informative and humorous. The ride went by quickly as we learned about Buffalo, historical places and events and fun factoids. Really a great way to get oriented to Buffalo. Very much enjoyed.

Summary: We brought our 12 year old grandson to Buffalo because he is obsessed with World War II. We knew he would love riding on the double decker bus so it seemed to be the perfect activity to begin our visit-and it was. Officer O’Connor was personable, engaging and hilarious. Learning while laughing is the best. Most importantly, he was so patient with our special needs grandson and his endless questions. Highly recommend!
