Cadillac Ducal Castle: Entry Ticket
Visit the castle of Cadillac, located 35 km southeast of Bordeaux. This historic site has a dual history as a ducal palace and the first women's prison in France. Construction began in 1599, during the reigns of Henry IV and Louis XIII, this residence is an early example of French architecture. The castle boasts rich interior decorations, including impressive fireplaces. It also holds nearly 40 historic tapestries, making it the largest collection of period hangings in national monuments.
