Experience a Wine Tour & Tasting at Cantine Bosco Nestore in Pescara, Abruzzo

Summary: My friend and I booked late as a treat. We both have homes in Farindola, and have wanted to know more about local Abruzzo wine. We were so impressed with the tour, with Giovana and all her 25 years of knowledge and experience, plus her patience with all our questions. Beautiful wines of exceptional quality and diversity. We are excited to take all visiting friends and family to this vineyard to share the experience.

Summary: Our guide was superb and explained the wine making process as well as the history behind the vineyard. We were thoroughly delighted with the vineyard tour as well as the superb wine tasting.

Summary: We had a wonderful two hour tour of this beautiful winery. Giovanna was a wonderful host, explaining the history of the winery and the Bosco family, as well as the process involved in creating the different types of wine. Giovanna clearly loves what she is doing. The winery is more than just a business; it's a craft this family has perfected over time and takes great pride in. This is obvious in the finished product we got to sample after the tour, along with some lovely cheeses, meats and bread. The trebbiano, montepulciano and chardonnay were fabulous - our favorite was the complex, delicate chardonnay. We purchased several bottles of wine, of course. Thank you, Giovanna, for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Don't miss it!

Summary: The tour was pleasant, informative and memorable. The hostess had a deep and caring knowledge of the winery and its history. The tasting of the Bosco wine and accompanying food was in a wonderful setting within the winery. We felt as if we were in their home. Met several other people we enjoyed in conversation.

Summary: Our hostess was knowledgably and friendly. She took our party of 12 throughout the entire winery and explained all of the steps in detail. Later we sat down to a tasting that included 4 of wines accompanied with grilled artisan bread with their olive oil and a taste selection of local cheeses and cured meats.

Summary: It was simply amazing, great guide, wine, environment and food. You get to go through the whole process of wine making and then a tour of the "museum" of Abruzzo before tasting their wines accompanied by local food. Don't hesitate to book!

Summary: Only two of us on the day as one couldn't make it. Normally bigger groups but we enjoyed the attention from our excellent English speaking guide. Have visited a couple of other wineries in Abruzzo but each one is different. In this case, we enjoyed the Museum very much and finishing off with really nice food and wine tasting. Even though I was driving, I was able to taste each wine and then tip what I didn't dare drink into a special jug (or preferably into my wife's glass for her enjoyment!). We were then able to purchase a few bottles to take home at a reasonable price. Finding the winery wasn't too bad with the SatNav, down the Autostrada from Prato Pelina/Sulmona towards Pescara and then off at Scafa towards Nocciano. The road gets a bit narrow towards the end but not too bad. We will definately come again some time when we can round up a few friends to make up a group.
