Summary: I have only amazing experience with Ace the Himalaya, but I know you guys here reading the reviews because you hesitate. Me and my friends chose this company for the EBC trek. Although this trek is not an easy one, we got full support from our guide Ramesh K. and our small porter team of Aiuse R., Asiese R., and Biroj M. Altogether we naturally became one team and helped each other in any situation. They provided lots of useful tips, we shared lots of laughs and stories, so our trek was finished successfully. I know you're here looking for some negative feedback, but I can't give it to you. The worst situation on high altitude happened to us - some members of our group got sick around the EBC and could not continue the trekking. Ramesh and Ace company did an amazing job to help them going down with the helicopter, coordinating multiple people on different locations. So if you want to be in great hands, learn history and culture of Sherpas - do not hesitate any further and go with the Ace the Himalaya. I truly never met more friendly, generous and welcoming guys.

Summary: I trekked Everest Base Camp with Ace the Himalaya late Sept-October of this year and had an absolutely incredible experience. The team at Ace was very responsive via email and answered any and all of my questions promptly leading up to the trip. The trekk itself was challenging but do-able, the views were unbelievable, and the team we traveled with were so welcoming. Much to my group’s surprise, the day after making it to base camp we got stuck in the beginnings of a blizzard— despite the added challenge, our guide, Maddy, was cool, calm and collected and had a plan the whole way to get us back safely. The porters we trekked with, Sher, Deepak, and Anil could not have been friendlier and helped take the best care of us while we hiked. I could not recommend Ace more. 10/10 experience.

From arriving in Kathmandu to reaching Lukla and trekking through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, and finally Kala Patthar - an extraordinary journey, closing off with unreal snow and blue sky up at 5650m. Summary: Company: Ace The Himalaya Guide: Lakpa Sherpa Itinerary: Everest Base Camp Trek + Helicopter Return Period: October 2025 TL;DR - Ace The Himalaya and Lakpa Sherpa far exceeded expectations - from attention to detail, ability to adapt, sharing and knowledge of the environment and more - in order to ensure the most phenomenal and safe trek i've ever been on. I've never been in better hands whilst on a hike. Most reviews are written pretty generically about how much fun people have. But if you have no idea what to expect on this trek, or hail from a sunny tropical island country like I do (Singapore), and have little to no experience braving altitude or bitterly cold temperatures, buckle up and read on, because this review's for you - and i'll be telling 2 stories that bear testament to how amazing Ace The Himalaya and Lakpa Sherpa are. There is no better company to go on a Himalayan trek with. 1. The nightmare that is flying to/from Lukla Airport. In the days preceding our trip, Nepal was hit by flash floods. This resulted in poor weather, and several flight delays. As a result, there were a good number of backlogged flights on the day we reached the local airport for our domestic flight to Lukla. Now bear with me as I provide some important contextual details of the airlines/airport. During the peak hiking season, Tribhuvan International Airport is too busy to fly out of, into Lukla. As a result, hiking companies usually send you on a 4 - 6 hour land transfer from Kathmandu to Manthali, to take the flight from Ramechhap Airport to Lukla Airport. There are 3 airlines plying the domestic route - Tara Air, Summit Air, and Sita Air. Each airline has an average of 2 operational planes at any given moment. The flight to/from Ramechhap and Lukla takes 20 minutes. Give and take 10 minutes for passenger and baggage on/offboarding, and you're looking at a 1 hour turnaround time for a single round trip. Typically, cloud cover descends on Lukla by around noon, and no further flights can be conducted, despite the airports officially opening till 4 pm. On the day of our flight, we were slated for the first flight out at 9.30 am, with a known backlog of 7 flights on Sita Air. Prior to this, we had endured an overnight journey from Kathmandu to Manthali, from 1 am to 7 am. We waited, and waited, and waited. After several hours of waiting, it dawned upon us that Sita Air seemed to have only 1 operational plane - we had only seen planes coming and going every other hour, and with the same serial number. Tara Air and Summit Air flights meanwhile, were flying fast and furious. Despair gave way to frustration, and we raised a huge complaint to Ace The Himalaya - with only 1 operational plane on Sita Air, and 7 backlogged flights, there was no mathematical possibility of us ever getting on a flight to Lukla. 9.30 am plus 7 hours would give you 4.30 pm, well past the opening time of the airport even if weather was all clear. Sadly, the announcement came at 2.45 pm that all remaining flights to Lukla had been cancelled. We had been the first official flight scheduled out of Ramechhap that day, but never made it to Lukla because all the 7 backlogged flights took priority before us. Sadly, we retreated to a guesthouse for the night (courtesy of Ace The Himalaya), and finally had dinner - our only meal that day. The next morning, we were greeted with another shock - our flights on Sita Air had been cancelled, and re-scheduled on Summit Air. As it turns out, the good people at Ace The Himalaya had taken our feedback and confirmed that Sita Air had one plane down due to technical issues. In order to get us out on an earlier flight to Lukla, they had worked tirelessly overnight to re-book us on another airline. We made it to Lukla Airport hours ahead of other fellow hikers who had been booked on the Sita Airlines - they had been none the wiser, with their trekking companies not providing updates, and their guides just happily sleeping at Ramechhap Airport. Needless to say, they were not pleased to learn of the developments when we shared our information with them, and it was only when they voiced their concerns that their trekking companies took action to help them. Another pleasant surprise came when we had completed the trek, and were slated for the domestic flight back from Lukla to Ramechhap, followed by having to endure a 6 hour land transfer. Once more, the good people at Ace The Himalaya had somehow found a way to book us a flight directly from Lukla to Kathmandu, and we only took 40 minutes to reach Kathmandu, with extra time to rest and play! Super super huge props to Prem for his constant reassurance, and the staff in charge of rearranging our flights. 2. Lakpa Sherpa - the most knowledgeable and safety-oriented mountain guide. The Everest Base Camp trek is everything that a trekker from the tropics could NOT adequately prepare for. None of the heavy loads, stairs training, or countless hours spent walking would prepare you for the exertions brought about by altitude, cold, and countless hours of extra UV exposure from simply being nearer to the sun. Enter Lakpa Sherpa. He paced our group extremely well throughout the trip, helping us navigate never-ending steep slopes, steps, and many hours of walking... all without us gassing out. Daily briefings were conducted at the start and end of the day to mentally prep us of the times and distances to be clocked. Lakpa Sherpa also taught us breathing and trekking techniques, in order to manage our heart rates and exertion, so as to minimise the risk of over exertion and altitude sickness. Not only did Lakpa Sherpa pay close attention to the hike, he also made the effort to safeguard us in non-hiking areas - from advising us what we could or could not eat to avoid falling sick (avoid meat and cheese after Namche Bazaar, eat the local food, drink more ginger lemon honey tea), to telling us how to stay warm at night as we went higher up in altitude (cover your head, neck, and ears when sleeping, lest you get a brain freeze and pounding headache). There was even the daily brief on the appropriate hiking attire for the next day, along with weather and temperature forecasts. A guide who doesn't educate you on the things you see along the way diminishes the experience. Lakpa Sherpa elevated our hike experience by educating us on the various mountains, the animals we saw along the way, and introduced us to the various religious and socio-cultural influences that shaped the communities that we saw. We were also constantly reminded of the social hiking etiquette to adhere to, in giving way to the working animals, other guides/porters, and fellow hikers/mountaineers. Beyond being expert guide, nanny, and teacher to our group, one incident puts Lakpa Sherpa head and shoulders above any other hiking guide I have ever had. It was Day 5 of our trek, and we had completed our trek from Tengboche to Dingboche, at an elevation of around 4,410m a.s.l. At that altitude, one's O2 levels should be around 85%. That evening, mine registered at around 73%. In no uncertain terms, Lakpa Sherpa gently but firmly expressed his concern for my low O2 readings, and counselled that he would not be able to let me proceed further with the hike if I did not respond well to the acclimatisation hike/day. Additionally, he kept Ace The Himalaya HQ (Prem) updated of my "condition", in case I needed further help or medical attention. Thankfully, my O2 levels improved the next day, and I was able to proceed with the hike. On further reflection however, I realised that Lakpa Sherpa's dedication to safety would have saved me from "mountain fever" if I hadn't improved and yet insisted on pushing on - most hikers would want to complete the mission, at risk of their health and lives. Lakpa Sherpa's dedication to safety ensured that our entire group hiked up and came back down safely, with adventurous tales to bring home to family and friends. 3. Conclusion. If you've read up till this point, I want to conclude by saying that I lucked out when picking Ace The Himalaya. There are countless other glowing reviews of other hiking companies online. And yet, these were the very hiking groups and hikers whom I saw suffering much worse, and are too many to detail - from explosive vomiting and diarrhoea in the middle of the night, low O2 levels, horseback and helicopter evacuations, multiple hospital visits, and more. Our motley crew of 4 from the sunny tropics avoided them all, and completed the trek with barely a runny nose, Khumbu cough, and some tension headaches. Without the expertise and care of Ace The Himalaya and Lakpa Sherpa, we certainly would not have come out of the trek that successfully. If you're looking for a trekking company that could help you achieve those dreams... look no further. You're going to be hard-pressed to find better. Pick Ace The Himalaya. Ask for Lakpa Sherpa. You'll thank me later.

Summary: This was our first trek in Nepal, and the whole experience was amazing. Right from the beginning of the booking process the Ace team was very responsive and helpful. To top it off, our guides Ganesh Khanal and Sonam Rai were the best and made this an unforgettable experience.

Summary: Our guide Ganesh Rhanal and assistant guide Sonam Rai were absolutely incredible and catered to our every need. When we got sick on the last 2 days of decent they made sure that we got all the help we needed, and whenever we stopped to sleep our bags were always waiting for us. when eating at meals they catered to any dietary restrictions or additions that we wanted. The amazing hospitality of our guides ensured that our trip was seamless and unforgettable and I will forever cherish the memories they provided. By the end of the trip our hiking group felt like family. I highly recommend this trip!
