Summary: Morning: Discover the Blue Medina Start your day early with a walk through the Old Medina, famous for its blue-washed streets and white-trimmed walls. Visit the Outa el Hammam Square, the heart of the city, surrounded by cafés and local shops. Explore the Kasbah Museum — climb its tower for a panoramic view of the Medina and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast (mint tea, msemen, and honey) at a local café in the square. 🕌 Late Morning: Visit the Grand Mosque & Local Markets Stop by the Grand Mosque (you can admire it from outside, as it’s not open to non-Muslims). Wander through the souks (markets) — full of handmade crafts, wool garments, woven blankets, and traditional pottery. Take photos in the most photogenic alleys like Rue Outa El Hammam or El Asri street — the perfect Instagram spots! 🍴 Afternoon: Local Lunch & Nature Escape Have lunch in a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Medina — try tagine, couscous, or bissara (bean soup). After lunch, walk or take a short taxi ride to Ras El Ma waterfall, a peaceful spot where locals wash clothes and cool off in summer. You can enjoy mint tea by the river or take short hikes in the Talasemtane National Park nearby. 🌇 Evening: Sunset from the Spanish Mosque Before sunset, hike (around 30 minutes) to the Spanish Mosque on the hill overlooking Chefchaouen. It’s the best panoramic view of the blue city and the Rif Mountains — perfect for photos and reflection. Return to town for a relaxing dinner — try a traditional Moroccan dish or a café with live Andalusian music. 💡 Travel Tips Wear comfortable shoes — the Medina is full of stairs and slopes. Bring cash, as many small shops don’t take cards. Respect local culture — dress modestly and ask before taking photos of people.
