On this two-hour tour, you’ll join a professional archaeologist for an in-depth look at Pompeii. You’ll walk through the ruins of the ancient city destroyed by Mount Vesuvius and gain insight into how Romans lived at the time. You’ll see some of the most important buildings and structures like the basilica, forum, baths, bakery, brothel, main street, Marina Gate and theaters. You’ll also visit impressive private residences like the houses of Faun and Menander and see the plaster casts of some of the volcano’s victims.

Summary: The information was good, but walking through a crowd with an earpiece on and feeling rushed as the transmission would cut out as soon as the guide turned a corner was not ideal. It is such a huge site that having a guide definitely helped, but I think I would splurge for a private guide or much smaller group if I go again.

Summary: The Pompeii tour was a wonderful, memorable experience! It exceeded all of our expectations. Andrea was a wonderful guide - he was friendly and funny, and his knowledge of Pompeii was so extensive. He was enthusiastic and engaging the whole time. He was exactly the guide we would hope to get on a tour like this. We really enjoyed how accessible Pompeii is and how much you are able to see and tour at the location. Definitely worth touring with a smaller group and a knowledgeable guide.
