Sunset Experience

Summary: We really enjoyed our visit. Wine, sweet treats and meeting the wildlife. Our host was super and really passionate. She answered all our questions and helped us understand the conservation work going on at the centre. It was a cold wet evening so dress warmly!

Summary: It was amazing. Best experience with a highly knowledgeable and warm guide, Renee. Seeing the animals up so close was so special, seeing the devils feed, visiting the quolls - the sweet treats and fire (inc. toasted marshmallows!) were a delightful bonus. Would highly recommend and would do again. So great to be able to support their convervation work AND have an unforgettable experience in doing so.

Summary: This was a fabulous experience. The guide was so informative and seeing the Quolls (of which I knew nothing) was very enlightening. The guide explained their habits, diet, and relation to similar animals. Additionally, touching the Tasmanian Devil was very interesting and especially watching them interact with each other normally and during feeding was a sight to behold. Book this, you'll be glad youdid!

Summary: Such a unique and educational experience. We were lucky enough to pat a quoll and tassie devil, then see some wombats being raised to go back into the wild.

Summary: The tour is highly recommended. We learned a lot about the Tasmanian Devil and other animals living in Tasmania. Stroking a baby devil was the highlight of the tour. We also had delicious wine and snacks. Thank you for the devotional guidance!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunset Experience with Devils at Cradle. It's a small group and you are provided with wine, beer and other refreshments which is a nice treat! We enjoyed learning from our very knowledgeable tour guide all about their purpose in saving the extinction of the Tasmanian Devils. We even got to pet one these furry creatures. Watching their "dinner time" is quite an experience (not necessarily for the faint of heart). Totally worth the visit!

Summary: This is hands down one of the best experiences on our Tasmanian holiday. The sunset experience was not only informative with a knowledgeable keeper but provided brilliant interactions with the Devils. We loved it so much we returned the following day and spoke at length with another keeper about Quolls. You absolutely must put this on your list of things to do when you visit Cradle Mountain and please spend money there - it's going to a very good cause!

Summary: This was our second visit, the first being some 15 years ago, and this was better. The sunset tour starts with a class of wine and some local treats which is a nice start but the animals are the stars. Our guide knew a lot about the animals and it is great to see that so much more is now known about the cause of the facial tumours and that a vaccination for this iconic species is close. The tour introduces you to the devils as well as two species of quoll, another interesting animal. It then takes you to places not usually visited finishing with a feeding at the back of the site, which was accompanied by the screeching that gave them their name as well as a range of other noises as the animal communicated with each other. Despite their name, the animals are quite shy, tend to keep to themselves but will share food with one another, provided they get some too! It was great to see some of their natural behaviours and get up close with a juvenile. To get the most of your visit, we’d recommend the late-in-the-day tours when the animals are waking up and active. Really informative and worth the effort. We would certainly visit again to spend time with these Tasmanian mascots.

Summary: We had a fantastic visit to Devils @ Cradle! Our guide Pru was very knowledgeable and passionate about devil and quoll conservation which made the experience valuable. We got to meet and interact with one of the youngest devils which was a highlight. Our Tasmanian sweet-treats were delicious and enjoyed whilst watching the devils feed- a highly entertaining experience! Overall, an engaging and insightful look into the conservation practices of devils and quolls, highly recommended!
