Join us for an unforgettable night paddling fully clear kayaks through the world’s brightest bioluminescent bay near Puerto Ferro on Vieques, Puerto Rico, where you’ll see the water light up beneath you and watch fish glow as they swim by while we explain the science behind this natural wonder; because Vieques is a separate island from the main island of Puerto Rico, it’s recommended you check ferry and flight schedules and book online 2–3 weeks in advance, and since tours take place at night you should plan to make accommodations to stay overnight in Vieques-on weekdays (Mon–Fri) the last ferry back is 9:30pm and on weekends it’s 9pm, but if you join our first tour you can catch the 9:30pm ferry to return to Puerto Rico; we maintain a 24-hour cancellation policy, charge $25 per person to reschedule if you miss your tour, and are happy to help with transportation to and from the meeting spot by providing a list of taxi and publico options.

Had a very good time. Paddling around the bay in pitch darkness was exciting. The guides knew what they were doing and how to manage things on a safe and organized way. They also gave interesting historical and scientific information. My wife has mobility issues and we had concerns. The guides did a fantastic job helping her and ensuring that she had a safe and fun trip.

Tours run at night to maximize bioluminescence visibility. Note that on weekdays (Mon–Fri) the last ferry off Vieques is at 9:30pm and on weekends it’s at 9:00pm. If you join our first tour, you’ll be able to catch the 9:30pm ferry back to Puerto Rico on weekday evenings, so it’s recommended to plan accommodations on the island for later tours.

The shoreline is very rocky with a concrete step down, so the tour is not recommended for wheelchairs or strollers and is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or pregnant travelers.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. If you miss your tour and want to reschedule to another day, there is a $25 per person rescheduling fee.
